We have just landed on a white bar of sand to the west of Big Mouth Island. Local lore is that this was created by the last hurricane and the sand was dredged up from the very bottom of the sea. However, the sea only measures 15 feet in this part of the world so we are hopeful that some sort of artifacts will be found.
My assistant on land has informed me that we have been out of touch for almost two months but I think that only a week has passed. Possibly in that last storm we went into some kind of time warp. If I ever can find the chemicals needed to develop our film we will be able to analyze the past series of events. The sailing vessel is a jumble of boxes and specimen cases and we don't know how it got that way. Generally we are a very organized and neat crew. It may be that we have been boarded in the night by nefarious characters in search of precious artifacts.
However, I will soon be sending out a new box.We are just waiting for a passing ship. Our carrier pigeons did not survive the last month.I hope that this bottle reaches you soon.
Signing off.......
